Every purchase records a batch with its expiry date and cost. Stock is not one number — it is a set of batches, which is what makes accurate expiry control and true profit calculation possible.
When an item is sold, the system deducts from the batch expiring soonest and tells the cashier which shelf batch to pick. Oldest stock leaves first, automatically.
Run Reports → Near Expiry weekly. Items expiring within your alert window (90 days by default) appear with quantities and values, so you can return them to suppliers or discount them while they still have value.
